Stepping into the Ilheus Hotel feels like entering a piece of Ilhéus' history. The charming historic building in the city's centre exudes character and charm, offering a glimpse into the city's colonial architecture. The view of the harbour from the lounge area is a delightful bonus, a perfect spot to unwind and take in the beauty of the lagoon.Our room, equipped with a TV, fridge, and a private bathroom, was a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring. The air conditioning provided a welcome respite from the tropical heat. The helpful staff added a touch of warmth to our stay, always ready with suggestions on where to immerse ourselves in the local culture.The hotel's prime location allowed us easy access to the Sao Sebastiao church, market, and Jorge Amado's memorial house, each offering a unique glimpse into Ilhéus' vibrant Afro-Brazilian heritage. Strolling to the nearby beach, with its pristine white sand and clear warm water, became a daily ritual we eagerly anticipated. The cultural richness of the surroundings, coupled with the convenience of modern amenities like free Wi-Fi, made our stay truly immersive.
